FAQ: Nom-nom-nom! Why can’t I stop eating???

Nom-nom-nom…!!…The “why” behind the continuous munching (when you’re not hungry) 

  1. Because junk foods are readily available in the house/ office drawer!!!… Clear it out – Make it a hassle to get your hands on it. It’s usually an impulse to de-stress or procrastinate, not a physical need.
  2. Stress, procrastination, distraction or delay… How many times have you opened the fridge leading up to that stressful deadline…?
  3. Sleep – Not getting enough sleep disrupts your hormones – both ghrelin (the hunger hormone) and cortisol increase, packing on bellyfat.
  4. Thirst.. Sometimes you’re actually thirsty, not hungry – A clue is craving watery foods. Read: How much water should I  drink per day?
  5. Blood sugar issues – Eat low GI carbs (except for immediately after training).
  6. Gut flora imbalances. Eat probiotic and prebiotic foods and drinks. Flora imbalances can contribute to a “seet tooth” after supper – Have a teaspoon of honey after dinner to “quench” this. (We stock raw honey at our physical premises)
  7. Over-estimating how hard we’ve trained. Under-estimating how much we’ve already eaten.
